Metrowrap competition entry: space to think

Another entry by myself, Miranda Bolter, Freya Defoe & Steve Hickery for the Metrowrap competition. (Details of the brief in previous blog, 'Just for a laugh'.)

This idea:
The one thing that all newspapers have in common is that they are packed to the rafters with content. Space is at a premium, so every corner is filled with editorial or advertising. We would like to create an empty news 'template' for the cover wrap, allowing commuters to doodle, draw, write, play, think or speak out.

This unexpected request for readers to contribute to the paper will spark peoples imagination, and allow them a small platform to express themselves on the way to work. This will allow a conversation between commuters as the papers are circulated amongst the carriages and re-read.

Then there's the possibility to turn it into something bigger, create a micro-site for people to upload their cartoons and content, award prizes, create a community.
